Last night I watched ‘Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets’, so today I woke up thinking of basilisks. And speaking of basilisks, they are often linked to the cockatrice, which is a mythological 'beast’ I’ve never heard of. I mean, I have heard of it but I never really paid attention to it because it just sounds like… I don’t know… like something you either boil in your soup, or something you knit. So I googled it, and apparently, a cockatrice is a two-legged dragon or serpent-like creature with a rooster’s head. Sounds scary!! But check out the photo of a cockatrice - scroll!!••••Now hold on, how is a cockatrice a serpent-like creature? I’m sorry, but you put a chicken’s head on a monster’s body and it becomes a chicken-like creature. I was right, a cockatrice sounds like something that might get boiled in your soup.#iflookscouldkill https://www.instagram.com/p/CEAKQEuniyM/?igshid=xt8ptc2pupr6 -- source link
