Here I observed the shadows from my latest maquettes, in order to assess the way in which the colours affect the environment. The melted cellophane really stands out when a beam of light is directed towards it, and casts a coloured shadow depending on the direction of light and how far away it is from the object. If the sun were to light the sculptures. the shadows would be considerably more faint especially in a light open plan area. Because of this it may be a good idea to light the sculptures from the inside. I made these models with the idea that they could be attached to the walls and arranged into so kind of pattern. This adds to the diversity of my work, so that if 3M were opposed to having a sculpture of mine in the atrium, my work could easily be adaptable to most of the walls in the building. I am unsure yet as to what materials I would sculpt these from when scaled to a larger edition. -- source link
