Mountain Mint / Pycnanthemum incanum - plant Mountain Mint is a tough perennial plant, native to North America. Silvery foliage is enjoyable all season long. It has tiny little white flowers with lavender spots that feed many forms of life during an extended blooming period. Ecologists have noted that this is an *extremely* important plant for native pollinators. It’s been a top performer in multiple gardens for us.Mountain Mint is great in clay soil and other difficult areas. Drought tolerant once established, and will help with erosion issues. Full sun to partial shade, USDA hardiness zones 5-8. At maturity will be about 3’ tall and 3’ wide. Better behaved than other mints, you can divide the plant every 3-5 years. It is also deer-resistant. The Choctaw Indians would mash the foliage in warm water and drink the resulting tea for headaches. It can be used in any recipe that calls for mint. Before orally ingesting any plant you’ve never tried before, try rubbing some of the plant on your forearm and waiting 15 minutes to see if there’s any chance you might be allergic. Use your judgment - if your forearm turns red or starts to itch, leave this plant to the pollinators. We’ll send you a small but very healthy one that is bare rooted. Upon arrival, be sure to plant immediately.$4.99 per plant / reduced shipping on multiple orders -- source link
