You are free to leave, but ONLY once you’ve answered four riddles–puzzles so fiendishly difficult, so perplexingly complex that no man has ever solved them! Ha ha ha~”So, Medievil was one of the first games I owned on the PS1–the demo came bundled with the console, and after playing it once I immediately fell in love with it–and it’s still one of my favorite games even to this day. With its quirky sense of humor, dark, creepy atmosphere, and amazing soundtrack, I’m surprised there hasn’t been an HD remake for this game. I know I would buy it in a heartbeat. The scene I drew here is from the part in the game where you enter the grounds of the Asylum, where you have to escape an enchanted hedgerow maze controlled by the smug, crafty, riddle-loving entity known as Jack of the Green. His “fiendishly difficult” riddles prove to be very easily solved, and he gets increasingly indignant with you the more riddles you solve, until he spitefully allows you to roam free within the maze–but withholds the location of the exit.
