Paramount Theatre1066 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94102Opened as the Granada Theatre on November 17, 1921 by Publix Theaters Corporation, with an operating staff of 122 people, this opulent, Andalusian-style movie palace later became part of the Fox West Coast Theatres chain. On January 31, 1931, it returned to the Publix fold and was renamed the Paramount Theatre. In addition to its opulent interior, the Paramount Theatre also contained a 4 manual, 32 rank Wulitzer.The Paramount Theatre was about half a block away from the Golden Gate Theatre and Warfield Theatre and you can still see the outline of this now-demolished theater in the facade of the adjacent building. -- source link
