Long before his association with Doctor Who, one of Ian Marter’s first non-theatrical roles was alongside Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in the 1967 film version of Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus. Marter plays an emperor who represents the deadly sin of pride - and rather fabulous he looks, too, with the robes and the bling and the long flowing locks and the cheekbones and the blue blue eyes, and whatnot! -- source link
