Zaju is not well studied and currently in an awkward situation in the hanfu movement as it did not hold any major significant in the hanfu movement. Modern quju and chest-high ruqun, which also did not have much or no actual clothing artefacts, they had make themself into “hanfu” by its historical significant (the first modern hanfu) and sheer popularity respectively.It is good to experiment and it does looked awesome, but not all accept it as hanfu today. Some put it as period clothings, but some would just considered it as costumes (影楼). Please contact me for any problems and mistakes.Thank you for the additional info!
