taksez:history-of-fashion:1741-1745 Georg Christoph Grooth - Portrait of Akinfiy Nikitich Demidov(Nizhniy Tagil Museum-Preserve «Mining and Work Ural»)What is going on with his breeches?His breeches are barely visible, and I don’t think anything unusual is going on with them, but his waistcoat is trimmed with some kind of fringe along the bottom edge. A somewhat odd looking fashion choice, but I’ve found 21 examples since noticing it was a thing a couple of years ago.
