ellagracephotography: From the project, Cape Clear: Falling through the Cracks. This work is being exhibited at Ambika P3 Gallery, Marylebone, London until this Sunday 15th September. Free admission, open 11am-6pm. Cape Clear Island is the most southerly inhabited point in Ireland. The once self-sufficient island that depended on the agricultural and fishing trade now has 62% of its land remaining fallow. Over the past 100 years the population of Cape Clear has declined by 75% and most of the current inhabitants are aged whilst young people are growing up only to migrate towards the mainland. Cape Clear’s landscape begins to tell it’s own story. -- source link
