scotlandsladies:The Ladies ♕ Queen Consorts [4/25] ↳ Sybilla of Normandy (c.1092 -1122), Queen Consort from 1107/1114 to 1122Sybilla was born to Henry I of England and his mistress, Lady Sybilla Corbet of Alcester in the year 1092 in Domfront, Normandy. She married Alexander I, King of Scots as early as 1107 or as late as 1114. The union was childless, but evidence suggests that they were devoted to each other and the Queen was known for her piety. Sybilla died 13 July 1122 in Kenmore, Scotland at the age of 30 and was buried atDunfermline Abbey. After his wife’s death, Alexander made plans to have an Augustinian Priory built in her memory and possibly took steps to have her venerated; he never remarried. -- source link
