bee-menagerie:Finally dismantled and rebuilt my octagon!I’d been meaning to do so for a while. All the plants in the octagon jungle have been replanted in this new set-up, so I hope they continue to do well..! They don’t have that super nutrient dense potting soil any more…which they might miss, but at least now this tank should be shrimp-friendly at long last!Just gotta wait for the cycle to establish, and we’ll find out, I guess!Plants are almost exclusively anubias and java fern…and salvinia floaters! Substrate is sand capped with ADA aquasoil.ammonia spike, LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOI want the test to come out clean and yellow tomorrow (but it won’t). Come on you cute little bacterial cultures, grow…grow!!! Eat all the ammonia, convert it to nitrites, and then invite your nitrite-eating friends over to party, too!!! I need you. My fish need you. You make the water cozy and livable! I’ve never been this impatient for a tank to cycle before. I really wanna put Ghost in here, I think he’ll love it and also…it’s the nicest little set-up I’ve produced yet. -- source link
