art-of-swords:Szabla Sword (Hussar’s Sabre)Dated: circa 1700Culture: PolishMeasurements: overall length 92 cmThe sword has a curved, single-and false-edged blade, with a slight fuller, marked “FRINGIA” between toothed segments on a side. The blade is engraved with an anthropomorphic sun and moon and some stars on the opposite side, while the iron cross-quillon has straight quillons, ribbed at the center and with long langets corresponding to the bands on the grip. The leather covering of the scabbard features an iron rosette on each side. The wooden scabbard is covered in leather and has iron mounts, five bands, two of them provided with ring, all decorated with rings.
