“Aussie Builders Surprise Public With Loud Empowering”Photo source (from an ad in Australia)UPDATE: I originally found this photoset on a feminist Pinterest board, but a visitor has written in to share the original source, which it turns out is a sexist Snickers Australia commercial! Good grief! The photoset “Aussie Builders Surprise Public With Loud Empowering” comes from a Snickers commercial which advertises the exact opposite message (that because they’re hungry they’re saying “crazy” things) Here is the vid: youtube(.)com/watch?v=0gjsoSY18kgYUCK. When you hear the tones in the different guys’ voices and watch the reactions of the women (whether staged or not), it is much less of a fun goof and much more creepy and threatening, with the guys really harassing the concerned looking women before the positive “twist” message. Thanks for the tip! I should have done more diligence on this one before posting! Especially when it turns out this ad was a big deal earlier this year:NY Daily News: New Aussie Snickers ad with shouting construction workers blasted as sexist by both sexesJezebel.com - Confuzzling Snickers Ad: Men Are Sexist Pigs Except When HungryEven reliable sexists TIME magazine covered it!
