Cuban fairy-tale “Old Ladies with Umbrellas” (or rather the Russian interpretation of it, which has some major differences). I struggled to find English version, but it doesn’t seem to be existing. (Please write me if you happen to know of it!)Shortly speaking, it is a really beautiful plotless tale about seven rainbow sisters living in the cottage in the woods, each associated with one color and an unique magical power.1 Beatriz the Dreaming, Red Lady, whose dreams come alive as she’s thinking about them.2 Gabriela Who Calls Birds, Orange Lady, the mistress of birds of any kind.3 Alejandra the Remembering, Yellow Lady, who can travel through her memories.4 Eduviges the Embroider, Green Lady, a spectacular seamstress, whose embroideries come to live.5 Claribel the Gardener, Blue Lady, who is a good friend with florals.6 Fortunata the Storyteller, Indigo Lady, who knows every fairy-tale there is, as well as numerous magic things to entertain her little listeners.7 Damiana the Healing, Violet Lady, having any sweet remedy for any illness. -- source link
