omgdidyouseethato-o:magnoliaalchemist:saywhat-politics:The tears of the Republican who cheated to win in North CarolinaIn case you all didn’t know, this guy hired a team that collected absentee ballots from voters, which is a felony. He claims he didn’t know that it was happening, but now his son has stated that he had told his father that what he was doing sounded illegal. Please, never give anyone your absentee ballots. A lot of the people who did simply didn’t know any better, but this ignorance is dangerous when you have people like Mark Harris running for office.Clarification that Mark Harris hired people to collect BLANK unsealed absentee ballots and filled in votes for himself in both the Republican primary (where he upset the incumbent) and the general election.Also, third party ballot collection (aka ballot harvesting) is allowed in some states (like California) but is banned in North Carolina. It is useful if done properly to help those who can’t leave the house (ie the elderly or disabled) return their ballots, and there are generally safeguards in place (signature verification, affadavits, etc) to prevent fraud like this. -- source link
