xmarcanewinter:megneato:arcanewinter:megneato:arcanewinter:megneato:huladori:megneato:turtletotem:…first I’ve heard of this BUT I AM ALL FOR IT Y’ALL.Wait, what. Similarities to Inception? Because there were so many telepaths in that movie. I don’t, what. Anon, could you anonymously explain, I haven’t heard anything about this either.Here. and I quote:The jettisoned sequence was a sort of dream-space combat, according to Vaughn; … the filmmaker said for the film the fight involving Professor X (James McAvoy) and some other mutants was to going to be presented with spinning rooms and other physics-bending imagery — visions that he felt drifted too close to signature moments in “Inception,”I know there’s at least one other article that mentions it.Woah, interesting. I never knew about this, thanks! That sounds like it’d be kind of awesome if they’d kept it in, depending of course.nnngh I love thinking about this because it would actually challenge Charles in a way that would thrill him. Few things present Charles with any real problems with a mutation like that. I’m sure Charles having to battle someone on his own terrain would be an amazing thing to watch.Yes, yes completely this. Also that moment where, in the imagery of their mental battle, he gets up out of the wheelchair.._.Oh my god Arcwin, okay. And then he doesn’t quite realize because he’s concentrating so hard, and it’s just completely out of habit that he stands, because he’s not quite used to it yet. And then sometime afterwards has a mini breakdown because for like 30 seconds he believed he could walk again.Or if not believed, at least felt what it was like to walk again. I doubt he allows himself walking fantasies and would eventually cease to dream of walking. But all the effort he’s putting into the conflict he’s also putting into the mental vision of it and he can’t help but feel what it’s like again.I’m imagining these mental fights very literally, perhaps shallowly (psychic fights must be immensely complicated and boundless so I just revert to the image of two people physically fighting in unpredictable ways) so now I can’t help but think maybe he does it on purpose sometimes, you know, deliberately takes them by surprise by launching himself out of the chair and being a badass (same as the badass he is in the chair, just taller and unexpected!) -- source link
