Co. Galway: The hollow Clifden Castle, built in 1818 for one of my distant ancestors, John D'Arcy. The current outside is a facade put up by the successive owners, the Eyres, with their crest featured above the front door. Clifden Castle fell into disrepair in the late 1800s, and later the inside stone was used as a quarry by locals. -- source link
