I assume that Laurence and Temeraire both were like “if you insist on flying injured instead of recuperating you are going to be bundled in like ten layers. and a blanket.” and Tharkay was too touched to refuse (he does, by the way, have a harness on under there, it’s just completely obscured by blanket and coat).
