January 17, 2017Wild Belle: DreamlandThis album was a suggestion from my sister when she heard I was listening to an album a day for my New Year’s Resolution. I hadn’t heard of Wild Belle before today, but my sister saw them at Coachella and loved their music. The title Dreamland is very fitting for the album. The lead singer, Natalie Bergman, has a very fantastical/dream like voice. It is high but raspy which gives off some Amy Winehouse vibes, even though it’s not nearly as dominant as Amy Winehouse’s voice. The song “Giving Up On You” seemed a little out of place in the flow of the album. The voice used was too different from the rest of the album and hadn’t been introduced earlier so it kind of threw me for a loop. The album covers a popular theme in music: the trials and tribulations of love. Their songs had good lyrical content and I enjoyed listening to the album as a whole. I think this band has a lot of potential and I’m excited to hear what their next album brings! -- source link
