dimisfit: The Lonely Vincent Bellingham website is now live! A big big BIG thanks to everybody at Hiveworks: Jojo and Isa, and ESPECIALLY Erin for being so patient with me and making such a wonderful website! The launch day is coming up! Are you excited? Because I’m TERRIFIED HAHA I’ve been excited for this webcomic since October! It’s about family, I think, and anything else is perhaps spoilers? You can check out Diana Huh’s website (it’s what I reblogged this from) if you want more details on the story and characters. I don’t really think it’s my place to speculate since it hasn’t even launched yet! It’s been fascinating to watch the process of a webcomic. There’s a lot of work you don’t see that goes into a webcomic, and the fact that Huh is launching it on a site like Hiveworks signals to me that webcomic legitimacy is still ever-increasing. Maybe it’s just me, but the idea that you don’t have to already possess a huge readerbase in order to be picked up by a hosting site—that you can pitch an idea with art and a story and then, once you have some security, you can make it a reality—is proving that webcomics are a business, not just something that artists do in their free time. Of course artists DO make webcomics in their free time, either because they can’t or don’t want to do webcomics full time, and those works are no less legitimate. The fact that it’s no longer the only option is nice to see, though. -- source link
