badcode:Emily Wilson on translating The OdysseyThis theme of “mouths” as powerful and full of knowledge brings me back to Book VI of the Aeneid. The word “mouth” is used pretty much every time the Sibyl speaks, the Sibyl being a powerful being (and a woman) who is granting the hero, Aeneas, knowledge to help him on his journey.I’m very pleased to see that the theme of mouths and powerful voices was maintained in these epics. -- source link
