nevaehtyler: Richmond, California. Police Chief Magnus: Why I Joined a Protest Against Police Brutality. “The police and the community share a common goal. We want peaceful protests to be something that people feel comfortable participating in and to understand that the police are guardians, because we should be protecting people’s constitutional rights. But we also want to send a message that we care about everyone in the community. This needs to be a partnership between police and persons of color, black, brown, whatever. We need to be working together.” This is what I like to see - police officers that are actually woke and support Black Lives Matter movement. This also goes to show that it’s not that hard to be a good person and a good cop. Unfortunately a lot of his colleagues don’t share the same way of thinking with him and not only do they embarrass themselves, they make us think that there are no decent officers left who actually will to protect people and not abuse them. Keep it up, police. #We need to be working together! #BlackLivesMatter Richmond, California. Police Chief Magnus: Why I Joined a Protest Against Police Brutality. - THIS IS A START. Now he needs to use his institutional power, in addition to his white privilege, to solving the problem! -- source link
