Greetings and welcome to the first official PIXELRATED post! My name is Kris Mark, and I will be giving you my rundown of the life of a level 60 Demon Hunter. After recently traipsing around and, obviously, dying my way through the first few acts of Inferno mode, I thought I would share my opinions and advice to anyone out there tired of getting reduced to a little pile of helpless rubble thanks to our friends, the Elite mobs. You will be seeing a lot of this. Just be patient! As it currently stands, there are two things that can give anyone soloing content a shot at not dying: buying gear through the Auction House, and being very strategic with hit-and-run play style. Depending on the strength of your gear, dying and trying again will most definitely be a part of the formula for a while. While I haven’t reached level 60 with every class, I have learned that things become a lot more doable when you’re fully in level 60 rated gear that helps you reach around 38,000 HP and 22,000 DPS (before bonuses from Passives and buffing skills like Mantras). If you can find all-resist without harshly sacrificing the aforementioned stats, it’s always a bonus. (Barbs and Monks go by a slightly different model in terms of DPS as a stat, but I will go over that in a future post.) These stats reduce the likelihood of getting one shot while giving you a reasonable chance of taking down your foes quickly. Obviously, given your class, your damage will be mitigated differently, but the general rule with this figure is that more = better. A key difference in dealing with Rare/Champion mobs in Inferno is that you really have to take into account which of your skills help you deal with certain types of monsters. Anything that has a stun or impairing effect (Caltrops runed with Torturous Ground for a Demon Hunter, Frost Nova for Wizards, Blinding Flash for Monks, Leap as an escape tactic for Barbarians, etc.) will definitely help your survivability and give you the seconds that become crucial for either giving yourself room to breathe or crunching out those last few attacks that make your next attempt easier. Making use of your environment is also a surprisingly overlooked step towards fending off Rare or Champion mobs. Large pillars, boulders, or small islands–anything that you can run a circuit around can ensure that you won’t be surprised by affixes like arcane sentry, freeze, or mortar–can enable you to dish out damage and duck out of sight right away. In my next post, I’ll be covering the basics of the good old Auction House. If you're not using it, there’s a high chance your gear can be massively upgraded for a lot less gold than you think. I also intend to put out basic class guides to discuss builds and strategies that go along with them. —- If you have any questions, suggestions, or comments, be sure to hit the follow button and submit questions to my ask box! -- source link
