sci-universe: Phoenix shaped aurora over Iceland Gotta love when people are in the right place at the right time. This spectacular bird-resembling aurora was captured in September near Helgafell mountain, located about 30 kilometers north of Iceland’s capital Reykjavik. APOD wrote how the photographer was still out in the middle of the night although much of that night’s auroras had died down.
