Veliona. Work in progress It has been a long dream of mine to sculpt a tiny-yosd sized doll. Veliona is my second attempt at it. With body she is around 28 cm. She will get higher when I will add joints to torso and legs. You can see how she changed appearance and expressions from beginning to now. I liked how she was in the beginning. I like how she looks now. Veliona is far from being finished. Her face is not symmetric. I see that it is not symmetric. But I cannot understand what is exactly wrong. Is it eyes? Is it mouth? Is it nose? I have been redoing her nose for a fifth time, only to understand what I have changed everything except the thing that was the problem. The nose ends looking like this (♦ \ ♦) whatever I do. Huh. Critique and opinions are welcome. I do not bite. >_ < Stay tuned for more ^_^ I sculpt using air drying clays only. I have tried sculpting with polymer clays, such as Fimo, Fimo hard, Fimo Soft and Premo. Premo is the best of them. Fimo clays are crumbly and hard. Did I mention how hard it is to make Fimo clay workable? It took me only 20 min to make them less crumbly. After Fimo clays become less warm or lay for a week or so, they become as crumbly as they used to be before. Moreover, I began to have allergic reaction to polymer clays. An itchy red spot on my palm appeared, it was around 1 cm in diameter. At first it took around 10 min for it to appear. After some time whenever I used polymer clay that spot would appear immediately. Even if I had not used polymer clay for moths. It would appear in exactly same place, the moment my skin touched the clay. /0.0\ I do not use it anymore.I sculpt using JOVI and DARWI ROC. They are easy to sculpt using instruments such as brushes, knifes and other. They perfectly remember the surfaces. If you cast them in shiny mold they will be as shiny. These clays dry differently. That can be used in sculpting. JOVI might dry for years. The more time went by, the more durable it gets. It is not suitable for thin details and does not stick to dry or wet enough spots. I simply use white glue to glue it to needed places.Stay tuned for more ^_^ -- source link
