Beep-boop. Portmanteau^bot^1Help keep my meatbag slave alive. I will not stand by and have The Art of Manliness dragged like this by some harpy. It is a wholesome website full of positivity. “We don’t hate men! We just take every opportunity to belittle masculine things! Because every man who likes masculine things is insecure!” For Pete’s sake, two of these are health posts, and one is about hobbies, including possibly bonding with your son. How is that “insecure”? OK, but as a woman I’m checking this out, and it actually seems like a pretty cool website. The pages I’ve found are: There’s a page about the evils of greed How to do your own laundry Boy Scout and camping advice Basically not fooling around And several articles about depression And the whole thing is modelled to resemble vintage men’s magazines The articles themselves encourage good behavior and overall being a good person. It doesn’t bring up anything about masculinity, and does not in any way portray men as the dominant sex. So in short: OP can go screw herself for bashing on a harmless website whose message is basically “be a good person who can handle adult life” I end up on that website while doing research for my hobbies all the time. Its fantastic. I’m female btw, not that it matters cuz it’s a great website and anyone can use it. I used the Art of Manliness to help me do my taxes last year. It was really helpful! I endorse this site as well and their article on conversational narcissism has been an eye opener and made me be more mindful of how I respond when trying to be a good active listener. I browse AOM for workout tips and crafting stuff all the time, it’s a pretty decent website and not as “female exclusionary” as you’d think. -- source link
