I’m eternally grateful to them and sorry for their loss; these x-rays were given to me with the understanding they’d be used for educational purposes. Please be respectful as you study these x-rays and comment. These came from a 15 year old female domestic longhair cat with gastric dilatation volvulus, aka bloat. This is INCREDIBLY rare in cats. We’re talking maybe 10-11 recorded cases worldwide, and that’s including this one. She was also recently diagnosed with diabetes and had a history of constipation, although I doubt that was a factor. You can see a MASSIVE amount of gas in her stomach as a result of it twisting over. That gas had built up for less than a day. -- source link
