trekethos:Mount Saint Helens, WashingtonThis is shot from the summit of Mount Saint Helens looking into the volcano’s crater. I’ve climbed taller mountains than Saint Helens, but still I consider this one of the toughest. Think climbing up 12000 stairs covered in soft sand with 20 pounds on your back. Totally worth it for the view though.Gotta love the view out the blown-out side of the mountain. In the center of the peak you can see the lava dome that grew about 10 years ago and you can also still see dead trees from the 1980 eruption floating in Spirit Lake in the distance. -- source link
