#Repost @thespooniesisterhood ・・・ MEET OUR TALENTED, COMPASSIONATE SISTER @colourblind_zebra : “What is The Spoon Theory? . . The Spoon Theory was born when Christine Miserandino was asked by her friend what it was like to live with Lupus. Looking around for something to help her explain, she picked up all of the spoons she could and laid them in front of her friend. She explained that being sick means you constantly have to make choices and realise how those decisions may affect your health . . Christine asked her friend to name the things she would usually do in a day and that each task would use up one of the spoons in front of her. This showed perfectly how someone who has a chronic condition has to navigate each day; making sure not to use up too many spoons, having to spend days recovering if they do and how healthy people don’t even have to consider how taking a shower could prevent them from going out or even getting out of bed for a week . .
