The Palomas and the Corbeaus have been locked in a war for 20 years; each one of the performing families hating the other, willing to do anything to sabotage their enemy.Lace Palomas, a mermaid in her family’s underwater show, knows to stay away from the Corbeaus, the family that wears silly wings and dances in the trees. But when Cluck, one of the feathered Corbeaus, saves her life, she forces herself to repay him. As the two grow close, the gap between their families grows wider. Can their love survive?A Romeo and Juliet story is nothing new, of course. But this book gives it a new, original air. I loved the plot, with two traveling performance families as the main characters, and underlying magic and mystery. The writing was amazing, with beautiful sentences and with as amazing world created for the characters to live. But it also has plot twists and romance, but it isn’t heavy with the romance. It also focuses on family, and what makes a family. If you’re a fan of Romeo and Juliet-inspired books, Magical Realism or just beautifully written books, check out The Weight of Feathers! -- source link
