In no way did the author or publishing company influence my review. For info on my book reviews click hereJess Tennant keeps meaning to live a normal life, but somehow that never really happens. Even in her small town, mysteries surround her. She knows she should stay out of it, but when a classmate goes missing, she feels like she has to get to the bottom of it. Oh my gosh, I can’t believe how much I liked this book! I love Agatha Christie books, so when I saw this one being compared to one of her novels, I was both really excited and worried, because I doubted that it would be any bit as good as one if her novels. But I could definitely see the parallels between Hide and Seek and an Agatha Christie book. I love the setting so much, and I loved the Christmas setting.Casey’s writing is very straight forward, but I still enjoyed it. It’s very similar to Christie’s writing style. The characters aren’t as interesting as I would like them to be, but the book was very plot-driven so it kind of makes up for it. The mystery was pretty good! I didn’t guess who-dunit, but the clues were all there. I think that’s the mark of a good mystery; you can’t solve it, but when you get to the end you realized you could have and you roll your eyes and say “duh! of course! Why didn’t I notice that?”If you love Agatha Christie but want a modern twist, try out the Jess Tennant series! -- source link
