How I wish this poem by Ross Gay would not continue to be so relevant again and again and again. The police are stealing family members, stealing storytellers and artists and gardeners and scholars and doctors and dreamers, their role is to take and to take and to take and to take. Let’s assign them a new role in the dust bins of history, to the annals of memory. There is a better world just at the edges of our imaginations, just at the edge of language and at the edge of our grasp, and we who can breathe must realize this world as those who wish to continue and take and take and take until there is nothing and no one left to take do so with impunity. There is no room for police in a world of breath and life. No room at all. #georgefloyd #blacklivesmatter #ericgarner https://www.instagram.com/p/CAtcnOKFGAq/?igshid=1d9krgj5ic8a9 -- source link
