Hourglass quilting: Last weekend I booked time on a longarm to get my very large (95″ x 97″) quilt top quilted up!I started making these blocks a while back, decided on a layout, and then finished up the quilt top back in October. It’s been sitting around since then, but lately, I’ve been on a roll with quilting things up to get them done!I wasn’t sure how to quilt it (which is so often my problem!) So i just went with something simple: wavy lines, which I quilted back and forth over the entire thing. I wanted to do them perpendicular to the longer bars of piecing, to break up the design. It took only a few hours to quilt it up! I think I’ll do a faced binding on this one, which will make the binding invisible from the front; I feel like having a border around the edges might detract from the overall design. I look forward to getting this one on our bed! -- source link
