Two benefits of the Marvel Comics-Marvel Cinematic nexus are that the Hulk is Avengering again and that Loki is hip again. Loki: Agent of Asgard is a good display of the universes’ coexistence; obv the series exists because Loki is a thing, and Old Loki was reincarnated into Kid Loki and then upgraded to Young Adult Loki for the same reason. But the character and continuity it builds from is completely separate, and unknown to the movie viewer who meets Loki as a reformed secret agent instead of a villainous meme. The Avengers who appear are the same group as the Movie Avengers, but still true to their own characters (drunken lout Thor, bandaged fuck-up Hawkeye, etc). But we still get to enjoy a movie joke about Hulk’s famous line. Loki: Agent of Asgard #1, February 2014.w: Al Ewing.a: Lee Garbett / Nolan Woodard. -- source link
