It’s time for self-indulgent AUs of my own OCs! This time taking an OC without a real project and plonking him into a universe I’m currently working on a lot. So this is Val in the same universe as Vera from my comic Fieldwork. Val would make an excellent Red Rider up until the point that he gets mortally wounded in combat and hears a voice - surely just a dying hallucination - that promises he can still live and love and fight, if he will just let it help him. And desperate to finish off the monster, he says yes. It’s been hundreds years since Val’s last mission, since the last time the Riders saw him, but sometimes there are reports here and there of a strange inhuman knight who appears to rescue people. Or lure them away. As for Val, a lot of the time he’s not really aware of how much time has passed, or how long he’s been the sort of thing he used to hunt, or what exactly he does when he’s let out of Faerie for a time. It’s all a hazy summer daydream. It’s probably for the best that way. -- source link
