artofmanliness: It’s sometimes said that when men run in packs, they have a tendency to misbehave. But studies find that when men are part of an all-male group, they’re less likely to be inhibited by the bystander effect – the well-documented phenomenon in which people fail to come to the aid of others when part of a crowd – and more likely to jump into a dangerous, critical situation to help those in distress.
