JO’S 2020 ART RECAPso…. 2020, huh? a lot has been happening in my personal life too
JO’S 2020 ART RECAPso…. 2020, huh? a lot has been happening in my personal life too as i struggled to be my own independent person while also navigating my early 20s. last year i wanted to draw more consistently and look how that turned out but honestly, i think the gaping art block in jul/aug helped to refocus my entire outlook on my oldest hobby.i used to draw a lot for the sake of drawing and external validation, and it wasn’t amazing for my mental health. after that june burnout, i think i’ve now reached a point where i’m less concerned about the number of likes/notes on a piece, and more about my own enjoyment of the process, which is why i am consciously making an effort not to stress myself about drawing anymore.despite all this, i still see a lot of improvement in my art which i’m happy about, like my lineart in particular. of course i also see room for improvement in areas like backgrounds (i Tried with that march widofjord piece!) and poses & expressions, so those will be what i would love to focus on next.if you read all this, thank you for reading and for sticking around! i’m sure a lot of us could use a fresh start, so here’s hoping 2021 will be good to us -- source link
