Sylvia Plath’s GraveSylvia Plath, author of The Bell Jar, died in 1963. She is buried in a rather unassuming cemetery in the West Yorkshire village of Heptonstall. Whilst the headstone reads ‘Sylvia Plath Hughes’ some visitors have attempted to scratch off the ‘Hughes’ in protest of Ted Hughes’s treatment of his wife and the fact that she never wanted to be buried at Heptonstall, where Hughes’s family resided, at all.See AlsoAnne Brontë’s grave | The Grave of Peter the Wild Boy | Marjorie McCall’s grave -- source link
