#TBT to that time myself and 10 black and brown middle school girls took it upon ourselves to raise the money our school wouldn’t provide by stepping on 42nd street so they could take their rightful place at nationals in Florida. We made $320 that day and with 2 bake sales and a little help from our more financially stable parents we were able to pay for our trip, food and accommodations. New York came in 3rd at nationals.
