Family portrait in front of their house, Patzun, Guatemala After an ectic drive in some of the most intricated and complicated streets to navigate in of the small town of Patzun, i parked right in front of the yard of this family, just stressed and exhausted. Finally, they invited us to stay in their backyard wich is owned by the church. Even though, they possess almost nothing, they welcomed us and invited us to eat with their family. It was the first time that they had a real encounter with gringos and they really enjoyed it. They are amongst the poorest family there, even the house is not theirs and they have no address whatsoever. Marcial, the father would like to come to Canada for work but the whole process is complicated and expensive. Despite all of that, they are united and the children loved to hang around and play with us. Finally, after one week, the headquarters of the church kicked us out of there, claiming it was not « safe ». When we left everynody was crying. Lisette, Marcial, Javid, Alice and Ariel.
