EnyaRideon / Don Zenkai-OhThis is so cool. I don’t know if the rumors are true, or if this isn’t just a one-off Zord that will never appear in DonBrothers, but it’s such an awesome idea to have your anniversary series not only look back, but look ahead as well. And if it is recurring, and we see it a lot next season, then it helps solve the one-year gimmick issue. It’d be so cool if we got another round of Zords that were compatible with the ones from Zenkaiger, but only time will tell.The Good: I always like it when multiple Zords combine to form a Megazord of a single color. It doesn’t happen often, but I feel like this is a good example, and a different one from what we usually see. While they’re slightly different shades, the mono-red Don Zenkai-Oh is very cool, and the fact that we now have access to the very ChouRyuujin-esque Don Zenkai-Oh Vroom is also very cool, as the fact that they’re both vehicles and that Rideon incorporates a bit of blue really brings it together.And while I do have issue with how many parts this guy has, I think putting it together has its strong points. The way most of the arm is hidden inside the bulk of the bike, the way the head covers the exposed hole, how the head crest locks the face into different modes, etc.The Bad: While I very much like the look of this toy, it’s not the most solid. The main body is fine, but everything is connected by hexagonal pegs, so the sword and gear, and sometimes the arm and head have a tendency to pop off pretty easily. I also don’t like how you have to attach the torso before the head, as it’s a somewhat load-bearing piece of translucent plastic hovering over a pit.There’s also a lot of parts, and a I feel like they could have been whittled down to some degree. There’s not a lot of actual transforming going on; just putting pieces together.Overall, I like this toy. It’s not the most fun to play with, but it looks fantastic, and is another instance of Zenkaiger giving us something brand new. This is one where I say “get it if you like how it looks,” because that’s all it really has going for it. But as I said, I really like how it looks in all its combinations, so that’s enough for me. -- source link
