Read about their most recent adventures in The Olive Conspiracy, or watch them celebrate Purim with their family in “The Generous Princess”, one of the Tales from Perach short stories. This artwork by @agaricals on commission. Good Shabbos! There’s another eBook format for these books besides Kindle finally. PDF’s are here, in the $2-$4 range. These books are so good I just finished the Olive Conspiracy and it was so good! Have to get the rest of them soon. <3 Shulamit and Aviva are made of adorable <3 Description of The Olive Conspiracy from amazon sounds really good: A love story between women, between queen and country, and between farmers and their crops. When Ezra tries to blackmail Chef Yael about her being trans, she throws him out of her restaurant and immediately reports him to the queen. But when police find Ezra stabbed to death, Queen Shulamit realizes he may have also tried to extort someone more dangerous than a feisty old lady. The royal investigation leads straight to an international terrorist plot to destroy her country’s economy—and worse, her first love, Crown Princess Carolina of Imbrio, may be involved. Since she’s got a dragon-shifting wizard at her disposal, contacts with friendly foreign witches, and the support of her partner Aviva, Shulamit has hope. What she doesn’t have is time. Shabbat shalom! It’s been a big week for the Mangoverse, because for the first time all five books (4 novels + 7 short stories) are for sale as a $17 pdf bundle download, on Payhip.I’m really excited about this, and plus, this means there’s finally a way to buy the origin story (The Second Mango itself) in pdf. Shabbat, or “the sabbath” in English, is a time of rest (sundown on Friday to the time when the third star comes out on Saturday night) when certain types of activity considered work are forbidden if you’re very traditional, and discouraged if you’re being more relaxed about it (like in the Reform culture I fairytale-ized in Mangoverse.) Kindling a flame is one of those forbidden activities. But then how do you light the Shabbat candles, which are a key facet of welcoming in the holiday? Well, you see: Chef Aviva and Queen Shulamit are covering their eyes so that they don’t see the flames until after they say the blessing, so Shabbat hadn’t really “started yet” when they lit the candles. The blessing in English, by the way, is “Bless you, O Lord, Sovereign of the Universe, who hallows us with mitzvot [good deeds and/or checking off something religious that you did], commanding us to light the Sabbath lights." -mod Shira p.s.
