I’m learning how to play on a guitar I got for free that happens to be just the right size! here’s an ol’ necktie strap for it.picked up this nice silk tie from the thrift store dollar bin, and was surprised how many layers were inside when I opened it up! there’s a squishy wool padding layer to give it body, surrounded by a sheer lining for an unknown reason, and a nice little corduroy facade at the exposed bottom.I trimmed down the padding so it was the same width throughout the body, and sewed the lining back down into a strap (or a very skinny tie, if you will). I wanted something really adjustable and noncommittal, so I slipknotted the strap to a loop of waxed cord passing through a button, which can button around the neck. the bottom of the guitar already had a strap button, so a simple loop works there. -- source link
