joulejay: siriusbaguette: joulejay: joulejay: joulejay: another small addition last truth tea i think that you should respect the original skin color, but if you want to experiment why is it that you can only make their skin darker?? maybe i want to see what darker skinned character would look with light skin. is that racist? this is so hypocritical omg. changing anyones skintone no matter white or black is problematic. if you change a black persons to white, thats white washing meaning “they arerent white enough” and when you change a white character to black that means “they arent black enough” they have the same fucking meaning like cmon? yes i understand its more of a touchy subject when its black to white (and i dont agree with doing that) because of racism in the pat but it doesnt mean it doesnt have the same exact fucking meaning? just because youre so far up your own ass doesn’t make what you are saying right. oh and sorry but racism means being mean to someone because of their race. white and black are both races so no “reverse racism” doesn’t exist because its racism either way. no matter what race you are, being made fun of for it is racism. Oh and that artist just made it pastel ffs. they made all of their skin tones more lighter for the mood, not just the darker character. god this is why im scared to draw a PoC because of this. this just discourages artists to draw more of your kind, so why do you do this? i personally think dark skin is beautiful but i dont want people to start attacking me because im white and drawing a dark skin person or i messed up a little. ive had people belittle me on here just because im white and have experienced hate speech towards white people from black people when they havent done anything wrong and are attacking their colour? how is that not racism? Listen i understand that white to black rasism is a major thing, which of course it would be with history and all, but there are other racism’s apart from that, like with asians etc just because its not noticed on a huge scale doesn’t mean it doesnt happen. by saying all that its invalidating peoples experiences. -- source link
