awildunknown: africanprintcanada: www.africanprintcanada.com See I want to wear something like this but I feel so weird about it. I have no idea what African country my family originated from, and I don’t think it would be right to just claim “Africa” and wear whatever the hell I want. Is that okay? I genuinely don’t know where that stands on the appropriation “scale”.I identify as black, BUT I know more about my Panamanian ancestry than African. I see your frustration and I understand your confusion. It is okay to embrace your African ancestry without know exactly where in africa. Sadly a lot of blacks around the world are in your situation. Its not because you’re ignorant. You aren’t. History unfolded in a way that robbed you off what you hold dear. Express your belongingness in your fashion clothing and your being. Its enough. After-all we are one big family. ✊ -- source link
