Enslavement: The True Story of Fanny Kemble (2000) scene 2 part 1 Slave Habersham (Richard Yearwood) is chosen to take everyone’s punishment for a partially-successful escape attempt. He’s dragged to the whipping post, his shirt is removed and he’s seized up for punishment. He’s clearly feeling it and we get a good look at his welts.All the while the plantation owner forces his wife to watch the punishment. After a few lashes have been inflicted, she rushes forward and protects Habersham with her body which earns her stroke of the lash from her husband (the flogger up until that point being another slave) before he walks off.
