Please welcome Takamatsu-kun!!Takamatsu-kun is one of our dear guest artists who brings a great abundance of deliciously muscular Kuviras and AUs! Takamatsu, in 1-3 sentences, please introduce yourself! :D Hello I’m Takamatsu! Freelance artist and local weirdo who likes aliens, robots, cosmic horrors, and anime boys with glasses. The name of the game is fanart, copious amounts of nonsensical AUs, and watching the same couple shows over and over again and talking about nothing but literally those few specific things. What do you like about Kuvira? I’ve always loved strong, badass woman and and villains who try to do the right thing but go about it the wrong way, and Kuvira was a great combination of the two. I really liked the ideas her character brought to the table in relation to the whole of the Avatar universe cast of villains, starting out as an ally before devolving into the main antagonist. I feel personally Kuvira had a lot of potential but was ultimately done a bit of a disservice by trying to condense the whole of her character and arc into one thirteen episode season. The ostracized orphan who tries to carve out a place for themselves when they’ve always felt they never had one is always a character setup I like, with her building this empire around herself as a bulwark to the rest of the world as a safe place for herself; and I love the confidence and genuine power they gave her- how she felt dangerous like a real threat, especially during her fight scenes. She had such a great presence I wanted to spend more time with and a unique character to herself that set her apart and made a really lasting impression on me. Why do you want to participate in Kuvira Zine Volume II? LoK has wormed it’s way back into my brain rather recently since I first saw it back when it aired. Kuvira and Baatar had always been my favorite part of it and have become characters I’ve been having a lot of fun exploring lately in my art and my own writings so it was pretty fortuitous that I be approached now of all times to work on the zine as the two of them have been at the forefront of my mind for the past several months Check out more from them here @takamatsu-kun and on Twitter! -- source link
