dolliedearie: Mary Rushton founded The Rushton Company in 1917 in Atlanta, Georgia. Her daughter Wight Rushton designed many of the company’s products. Rushton toys were made of high quality rayon & plush material, stuffed with top grade cotton, hand embroidered noses, felt tongues and often, satin bows. Most had painted rubber faces. Rushton made several varieties of “Star Creation” bunny rabbits, which it is often known for. Rushton plushies came in a rainbow of colors, each with expressions ranging from joy to mischievous to sadness. The company ceased operations in 1983, and its most collectible toys range from the 50’s to the 70’s. sources -- source link
