Zitong was not our TA. her work and administration of this quiz was never referred to as babysitting outside of this email nor was she ever expected to actually “babysit” a bunch of 18-30yos while working on her PhD because guess what this email was a joke to make people chuckle and alleviate some stress as indicated by the fact that my professor was actually a young hispanic male referring to himself as mom and was originally giving the quiz himself but had an emergency the morning of, had to leave, everybody was stressed about what was going to happen and Zitong offered to help out last minute as an act of kindness. Being a TA was not her job, she was just one of his grad students (that class had no TA) so her being there to see the quiz go smoothly was more analagous to babysitting than a woman doing her job and being discredited and yall really love to make stretches without context person: *has fun* tungkr user caramelitx: obviously this is racism -- source link
