fromsouthasiawithlove: Letters to the Pakistan Army under the project “Azaad Pakistan” and “RangLayeGaLahu”It all started when a student of one of the universities here began a campaign of writing letters to the parents of victims of Peshawar attack. It included a group of students who wrote anonymous letters to the grief-stricken, desolate and heavy-hearted parents who lost their children in the brutal and inhumane attack. Those parents were extremely touched by the heart-warming letters and needless to say, it helped them go through the pain and suffering with a less heavy heart. After the huge success of this small yet effective campaign, those guys were reached by a lady who appreciated the idea and thought behind this letter writing and pointed out an even greater suggestion. She asked them to carry out the same campaign, only this time it would be for the mission ‘Zarb-e-Azab’ ( the mission that is being carried out by the Pakistan army to eradicate the terrorists and Taliban). That is how the idea of #RangLayeGaLahu Campaign was borne into the minds of our youngsters. Students of different colleges, universities and schools began writing letters, long and short, poems, words of confidence, morale booting lines, all of them addressed to our soldiers protecting the borders. Currently, over more than 100 institutions have become a part of this extensive campaign and their students have collaborated and contributed vastly to this letter writing. The purpose of this remains obvious. The incident of Peshawar attack had left indelible marks in our hearts. And perhaps the only way to restore the confidence and morale of our soldiers was to write letters to them. This campaign provided all the students and youngsters of our country to gather and unite for a common purpose and cause. And as unbelievable as it sounds, the campaign has met with a tremendous amount of success. One of the Army Officers was able to contact the pioneer students of the campaign and he gave an extremely positive feedback. He told the students that it DID help the soldiers and they were touched and impressed by the civilians of the country who wrote the letters to them. He also added that considering the places where the soldiers are being sent to, like the Waziristan border and similar ones, they have been unable to contact their own families for a long while and receiving these letters was totally unprecedented, yet encouraging. As stated earlier, it is being run under the project #RangLayeGaLahu. It is aimed to express unity and letting our soldiers know that they are not alone in this fight against terrorism. That they are backed up by 180 million other people in the country too. It has been highly successful in eliciting a positive feedback from our soldiers. However, as the campaign is still ongoing, it needs to be run on an even larger scale, as there are thousands of soldiers deployed in Waziristan. The soldiers were able to collect 2000 letters up till now, written by thousands of students across the country. Your contribution and collaboration would be highly appreciated. If you are interested in writing a letter, poem, or even as much as few lines addressed to the soldiers, you can write them, preferably in Urdu language, but English would be equally fine as well. You can sign off the letter either by writing your name or even your institution’s name will do. You don’t have to be a literature student to write a piece of perfect, fluent exposition. You contribution is what matters more. You can send these letters to the heads of your schools/institution or contact the person in-charge of this campaign on his Facebook page or his Tumblr. Let’s hope that our letters serve as a catalyst in bringing back the glory of the Pakistan army. Do we can bring back our #AzaadPakistan.Thank you! -- source link
